Topic ( Why Conserve Forests When We Are Short of Space)
Reasons:
-Most people are too busy with their own little lives to realize what is going on in the environment and eco system and it's important we look up information on the Internet to be aware of what we should fight for as far as clean air and keeping our forests and animal life safe and healthy. Nature is a delicate balance and everything has a use to keep that balance.

-Because of poor air quality in many cities in the world there are more cases of asthma, allergies and much worse diseases. If we don't keep enough trees our air will never be clean because trees filter out the pollutants in the air. They provide shade from the sun and food for animals. If we don't protect one specie of animals or mammals then the whole chain of events is unleashed.

-wildlife is an important species in this world. it helps in maintaining the ecoligical balance,economical viaue and aesthetic or recreational value so we should
conserve forests.Thus conserving forest we can able to protect wild animals too..

Reflections
-I learnt that forests are very important to us even if we are short of space.
-I learnt about many of the plants in the forests such as the Mr.Kiasu Plant.
-I learnt that we cannot make noises in the forests as it will scare the animals in the forest.
-I learnt that we cannot give monkey food or they will get lazy.
-I learnt that locusts make noises to attract the females.
-I learnt what to do when i encountered a snake.
-I enjoy walking in the forest as it is a great experience for me and my group members.
-I enjoy learning about the different species of animals or plants in the forests.

Some Information

-Forests are the habitat of animals. Mac Ritchie is rainforest. There are many animals in Mac Ritchie such as monkeys and animals. They shift their land into plantation, farms; trees. Mac Ritchie used to be plantation.

-This tree is tall and its stem is strong. (Tembusu) this tree is actually used by butchers to cut meats in the past. Tannin used as traditional leaf. This tree is also printed on the Singapore $5 note.

Reservoir is to store water. Reasons for people to kayaking
. Scenery very nice
. Sport

-In Tropical Rainforest, the root is shallow to absorb more rain water.

Simpulair, these plants mostly attract mosquito. Simpulair is used to wrap some food such as kueh in the past.

Bird-nest fern along the road are all planted by man. When the leaf die, it die inside the leaf so it can keep recycle by itself.

-Fish Tail Fern
This Leaf is like a fish tail/form.

Important of Earthworm
-Loose soil to grow trees
-Nutrient recycles

Secondary Forest
-Are grown after primary trees are cut.
-Primary has many layers than secondary forest as layer is gone after the tree was cut.

Wait-a-minute plant, it hooks very easily.

When lost in the forest, look up for liana and cut it for water (some survivor’s skills).

Leaf-litter Plants (Shaped like Helicopter)
Absorb the nutrient (another name Mr. Kiasu Plant )

A lot of fungus on trees in forests (Lychan)
Lychan died very easily of pollution

Trees can grow up to 20-storeys high in forests.

Fan palm (Licuala)
Many tribal used it for umbrella

Bamboo
- Grows fast
- Thin
- Used for furniture
- It is a tallest , largest grass

Mac Ritchie is connected to Bukit timah nature reserve.

Monkeys are aggressive when we give them food.
Monkey will show their teeth as a form of aggressiveness.

Fig Plant (Fruit Size and house of WASPS)
Egg hatch>female lava meet male>female can come out of the fruit>they will dig a hole in a fruit and then they die inside that fruit>the wasps die and become nutrients or energy for the Fig Plant.

Common Mahang
Got a lot of ants inside interrelationship both ants and plants. Plants provide home for ants and ants protect the leaf by chasing the animal that want to eat the plant.

Cicada sound will always can be heard in the forests.
